The Washington County Riverboat Foundation provides significant financial resources to non-profit organizations and local government to complete important projects to make Washington County, Iowa a better place to live and work.
The City of Riverside
Welcome to the City of Riverside “Where the Trek begins”.
Riverside is a small community of 928 people situated in the Heartland near the intersection of Highway 218 and Highway 22 in the English River Valley. Riverside is the self-proclaimed birthplace of the fictional character, Captain James T. Kirk of the USS Enterprise and Star Trek fame. In 2004, the city was the site of the “Invasion Iowa’ movie starring William Shatner and many Riverside and Washington county citizens.

Riverside Area Community Club (RACC)
The Riverside Area Community Club (RACC) raises funds to help with community programs and events including academic scholarships, first responders program and the boy and girl scouts. They also sponsor special projects like new playground equipment.
RACC’s biggest event and fundraiser of the year is Trek Fest, which they host each year the last weekend in June. Any member of the community is welcome to be part of RACC, to participate in the planning of Trek Fest and other important community events and projects.
Washington County is located in Southeast Iowa and covers 556.75 square miles in the richest of America's agricultural region. The nine incorporated cities in the county are Ainsworth, Brighton, Coppock, Crawfordsville, Kalona, Riverside, Washington, Wellman, and West Chester.
Kalona Chamber of Commerce
Today, the Kalona area is home to the largest Amish Mennonite settlement west of the Mississippi river, something that began when three Old Order Amish families established homesteads near Deer Creek the year Iowa became a state.
A pioneer spirit still thrives today in the progressive business community with its one-of-a-kind downtown and countryside shops and cottage industries. Thanks to a home grown, cutting-edge medical instruments company, Kalona is even known in the international high-tech marketplace.

The Washington Economic Development Group is a local, public-private partnership, 501c(6) non-profit organization that was formed in 1986. It grew out of a private, community based for-profit development corporation, Washington Industries, Inc. that was formed in the 1950s.

Main Street Wahington
The mission of Main Street Washington is to create a culturally diverse, economically vibrant downtown district. This will be achieved through strong partnerships, historic preservation, and coordinated events by empowering businesses, volunteers and the community. Without the support of the Community we wouldn't be able to accomplish all of our projects and programming.
